I have heard to different stories about this old railroad tunnel. One of them was when the RR build it the locals had a shoot out trying to keep the RR from coming into Valdez. The other one is that 2 railroads had a shoot out trying to get the right of way to Valdez. I am not sure if it was used, as there was not any evidence it was from what I could see. I It does not even look finished? Do know at one time there was a railroad that went in to Valdez. If anyone has any information please let me know. Wish I would have gotten some better pictures!
